Ron has been the Head Men’s Track and Field Coach and the Throws Coach at Gibson Southern High School for 19 seasons. During that time, he has had 36 sectional Champions, 83 Regional Qualifiers, 5 Regional Champions, 18 State Qualifiers, and 1 State Podium finisher.

As the Head Boys coach at GSHS the team’s win-loss total is 553-140.

Other coaching successes include a state championship win as the Head Baseball Coach at Tecumseh high school and most recently a 2024 state championship win with the GSHS ladies basketball team.

Kasey is a graduate of Indiana State and a 3 year member of their Track & Field team from 2010-2012.

Before ISU she attended Gibson southern high school earning Indiana All-State in discus 2009, Indiana All-State Academic 2009, and a Academic All-American in 2009.

She is currently an assistant throws coach with Ron Kahle at Gibson Southern High School.

Chad is a Graduate of Earlham College, where he was a 6 time national qualifier, in shot put.

Before Earlham Chad attended Southridge High School where he was a 2 time qualifier for the Indiana State meet and finished 4th in 2007. Since returning to Southridge to coach, in 2012, he has coached multiple section and regional champions along with 2 Indiana State meet qualifiers.

His high school PR in shot put was 58’3”

Jacob is a graduate of Rose Hulman and was a 4-year member of their track & field team from 2017-2020 placing top 3 in shot put at Conference, on 3 occasions.

Before RHIT he attended Gibson Southern High School where he was a 4-time sectional champion, 4-time regional qualifier, and qualified for the Indiana State meet in 2016.

Derek is the Head Track & Field/Cross Country coach at Springs Valley high school in French Lick, Indiana.

During his time at Springs Valley, he has coached, in throws, 7 sectional champions, numerous regional qualifiers, and 3 Indiana State Meet qualifiers.

In 2025 he coached the individual cross country state champion, Brooks Midwest Champion, and a Brooks All-American.

Nathan spent 7 years coaching at the collegiate level. He has directly coached 3 NAIA National Qualifiers, 2 Conference Champions, and 10 All-Conference athletes.

He holds a USA Track & Field level 2 coaching cert. in Throws, Distance, and Jumps, as well as, a USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach Cert.

Sloan is a Junior at Indiana State. In 2025, he finished 2nd in shot put outdoor with a distance of 18.62m and finished 18th at the Division 1 east Regionals.

Before ISU, Sloan finished 2nd in shot put at the ASUN outdoor conference meet with a distance of 17.42m and finished 4th place in shot put at the ASUN indoor conference meet.

Sloan graduated from Gibson Southern High School and was a 2 time state qualifier, finishing 13th in discus in 2021 and 11th in shot put in 2022.

His high school PR’s were 61’1” in shot put and 165’10” in discus.
